Dubai: Nasha Sarkari completed a grand double by winning the Emirates Golf Federation's Ladies Order of Merit titles in both gross and net divisions with handsome margins over her nearest challengers.

The talented golfer from Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club tallied an impressive 125.5 points after the conclusion of the Abu Golf Club Ladies Open, the sixth and the final event on the Order of Merit. Nasha led the Order of Merit from start to finish. She seized the early initiatives, winning the opening events the RAK Ladies Open and the NBAD Ladies Open, and kept the momentum rolling with some strong finishes in the remaining events.

Even though she missed out on the last event, it hardly threatened her ranking as she had already made sure of the coveted title before the Abu Dhabi Ladies Open.

The net division of the Ladies Order of Merit also produced a similar script with Nasha, who plays off a decent seven handicap, walking away with the honours with some creditable performances to her credit. Nasha finished on 87.5 points, relegating Lindsay (71.5) and Michaela Hlouskova (68) to second and third place respectively.

Saeed Al Budoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation said: "All the six events on the EGF Ladies Order of Merit produced some absorbing battles for points and, more importantly, there was a good turnout at every tournament.."

"I would like to congratulate Nasha for winning the Order of Merit. Nasha represents an army of talented youngsters who have shown a remarkable improvement in their game. And that augurs well for women's golf."
