Dubai: Arabian Ranches Golf Club will close entries at 6pm on September 3 for the upcoming 14th Dubai Duty Free Seniors Cup.
The event itself will be held on September 10 at Arabian Ranches Golf Club (ARGC). Entries are currently open for the men's and ladies divisions. The event is open to men aged 50 years and above while the qualifying age for ladies is 45 years or above.
Each competitor will use his/her handicap index as the tournament allowance to collect as many Stableford points over the challenging desert-styled links course.
Francois Wolfaardt, golf manager at Arabian Ranches, said: "Arabian Ranches Golf Club's Baker Finch design will be in tip top condition for this popular event. We expect to have a full field of 90 + competitors and are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the club for what we hope will be an exciting day."
Prizes will be awarded to the overall champion and best gross score of the day as well as men's and ladies divisional prizes.
Defending champion in the men's gross division, John Mills (ARGC - 1) leads the entry listing. However, sparring partner Steve Bennett (ARGC - 2) will closely challenge him. In the ladies division, on-form home player Sheila Alban (17) hopes to continue with her sparkling form of late to challenge for the overall winner's crown.
