Dubai: The Burhan Mohammad team stamped their mark on the UAE National Day Golf Tournament organised by the Emirates Golf Federation, with an impressive show at Yas Island Abu Dhabi.

With every member of the team chipping in with good scores when it mattered most, they carded a brilliant 102 points to take the honours, well ahead of their nearest challengers.

Finishing second on a countback was the team of Paul Mercer that consisted of Anne Brett Mercer, James Carrigy, Maria Carrigy with 93 points while the foursome of Adel Zarouni, Abdullah Al Musharrakh, Alan Salem, Soumaya Argui took the third place.

Over 100 golfers of various nationalities residing in the UAE turned up to showcase their golfing skills. And if the results are any indication, the players, split into teams of four, produced some quality golf befitting the occasion.

The field also included some of the board members of the Emirates Golf Federation, further adding to the profile of the event. Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, chairman of the Emirates Golf Federation, in fact, made it to the podium after winning the nearest to the pin prize with a superb tee shot on 8th hole.

Saeed Al Budoor, general manager of the EGF, thanked the players, sponsors and the staff of Yas Island for making the event a great success.

Second 93 points countback: (Paul Mercer, Anne Brett Mercer, James Carrigy, Maria Carrigy)

Third 93 points (Adel Zarouni, Abdullah Al Musharrekh, Alan Salem, Soumaya Argui)
