Dubai: Following the selection of Dubai’s finest amateur golfers for the 29th BMW Golf Cup International World Final in Sydney, Australia, earlier this year, the UAE team ranked 11th in the international tournament as a result of Arjun Khanna’s victory in Men’s Category B.

Despite the difficult weather conditions, the amateur golfer’s skills went above and beyond as he was able to secure a total of 100 points following an incredible back nine on the final round, as well as a six-shot chase. The victors were rewarded with an exclusive BMW Golf Cup International trophy, certificate and BMW Golf sport gifts.

“It was a great achievement and I’m honoured to win the BMW Golf Cup International World Finals representing the UAE. I am humbled by the support and joy received from my team, peers and everyone involved in the tournament,” said Arjun Khanna, Director at Barclays Private Bank.

Commenting on the UAE victory, Osman Abdul Moneim, General Manager of AGMC, the BMW Group local importer, said: “We are delighted to have participated in the BMW Golf Cup International for the 15th year running and are excited for the recent win of one of our UAE representatives in his category. We feel that this is an excellent reward for our commitment to local and international golf and look forward to next year. Congratulations to Arjun and we hope the rest of the participants enjoyed this incredible week.”

For the 15th year running, the UAE’s edition was organised by AGMC, the BMW Group importer in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.
