The Desert Course Arabian Ranches team leads the two-leg match against The Montgomerie Dubai at the end of the first round of the 2005 American Express Golf Challenge played yesterday at The Montgomerie.
Arabian Ranches led 904 to 875 points in the 50 player-a-side event with the best 20 men Stableford scores and best 6 ladies' Stableford scores with full handicap allowance forming the respective totals.
The second leg will be played on April 29.
A warm, stiff breeze tested the players all afternoon at The Montgomerie.
Notable rounds for The Desert Course Team came from Ian Hudson (19) with 42 points, Paul Ainsworth (5) with 39 points, Andy Brady (7) with 39 points and Mike Gerbich (5) with 38 points. Leading overall lady was Susie Dagless (TDC) (32) with a strong 39 points.
For The Montgomeie Dubai Team notables included Medallist leader Abizher Mohammad (20) with 44 points, Pius Meier (27) with 39 points, Paul Moir (5) with 37 points and Mike Badgett (5) with 36 points.
