Dubai: Young Rashid Al Qubaisi was the toast of the 23rd Dubai Duty Free UAE Nationals Cup, which took place at the Faldo Course on Saturday with 34 players in the fray.

Al Qubaisi was the overall winner with a score of 38 Stableford points, while the first runner-up was Abdulla Al Marzooqi with a score of 33 points. Only one point further behind was second runner-up Saleh Al Ameri with a score of 32 points. The winner of the lowest gross prize of the event was Khalid Yousuf, who logged a superb one under-par score of 71.

Reema Al Heloo became the ladies’ champion with a score of 30 points while the junior winner was Obaid Al Heloo with 29 points.

Commenting on the UAE Nationals Cup, Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice-Chairman & CEO of Dubai Duty Free said: “This year marks the 23rd running of Dubai Duty Free UAE Nationals Cup and the tournament has grown popular among UAE nationals since 1995 with junior Emirati golfers as well.”

The on-course prizes were won by Omar Al Bastaki for the nearest to pin on hole number eight and the longest drive on hole 16 was won by Hesham Ismail.

The trophies were presented by Salah Tahlak, Executive Vice President (Corporate Service), Dubai Duty Free, Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice-President, Marketing, Dubai Duty Free and Darwish Al Qubaisi, board member of the Emirates Golf Federation.
