Emirates Golf Club recently hosted the final ladies Medal event of the 2022/23 season. A total of forty five ladies competed around a pristine Majlis course from the Pink tees. High temperatures and humidity made the day a challenge for all competitors but the possibility of claiming the final medal of the season proved motivation enough for all ladies to give it their all.
The Silver Division A (Hcap 0 to 14) medal prize was taken by Monica Palao. Monica carded five net birdies and a net eagle on the day to bring in a net 70 and a one shot victory. Claiming division Silver A’s runner spot for this month is Mitsuko Emmerson. Mitsuko played her way to a 71 around the Majlis course with three net birdies. Wonjeong finished the day in third place after a very respectable round of net 72. A net eagle and a net birdie on the back nine helped her to claim the medal by virtue of back nine countback.
The Silver B Division (Hcap 15 to 23) winner is Haide Wrigh. Haide navigated her way around a tough Majlis course with six net birdie on the day to finish with a score of 71 net. Our runner up this year is Avani Shah. Avani carded five net birdies on the day with three of them coming on the back nine to finish with a 72 to take home the runners up spot by a single shot. Third place goes to Genie Owiti. It was a day of consistency for Genie who carded 7 net pars on the back nine to finish with a 73 and take the third place prize.
The Bronze Division (Hcap 24 to 36) for this event was won by Helen Srivastava. Helen carded a net score of 76 on the day to win the Bronze Medal by two shots. Runner up goes to Anita Staahle. Three net birdies in the final five holes helped Anita to a score of 78 net.
Jayshree Gupta won the overall gross prize for the event with a 79 gross. Despite a tricky start of three bogeys in the first five holes, Jayshree played a solid round of golf on the Majlis course to win the gross medal for the day.
