Joe Jones cruised to an 11-stroke victory at the Robert Rock Abu Dhabi Championship after carding three sub-par rounds over the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

“I putted really well all week,” said Jones. who played the UAE Challenge at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club last year.

“I really enjoy these greens. I was very happy with my game. I used this visit to prepare my game for the UK amateur golf season – so I am delighted with the victory.”

The Boy’s Under 14 Division was won by Alexander Rushika with rounds of 72, 72 and 73 for a one over par total, while 16-year-old Lavanya Gupta won the Girl’s Division after carding rounds of 69, 71 and 73 for a three under par total.

Robert Rock, former DP World Tour player and the winner of the 2012 Abu Dhabi Championship, said: “We have had an excellent few days at Abu Dhabi Golf Club. We have witnessed some excellent golf at all levels and encourage all the juniors to keep practicing and above all, have fun. We look forward to returning to Abu Dhabi Golf Club for future events.”
