On Thursday this week, the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted Jumeirah Golf Estates weekly Thursday Curry Club, which is played as a 9-hole pairs scramble.

Thirty-four players took part in the event. The teams comprised of new and long-standing Jumeirah Golf Estates members along with some of the golf management team.

Ladies were teeing up from the orange tee markers, with gents playing off the signature tee markers. Each team received a 50% course Handicap Allowance from 35% + 15% lowest to highest handicaps.

The winners of this week’s edition of the Thursday Curry Club were the pair of Steve Noon and Ian McInerney with a fabulous 30 Net. The pair worked well to navigate the front nine of the Earth Course and their excellent teamwork showed, finishing two clear of our runners up. Both winners will receive a one month pass for the incredible Tommy Fleetwood Academy.

Falling just short of the winner’s this week and finishing runners up were the pair of Aaron Yasities and Lewis Brown who scored a well-respected round of 32 Net.

The pairing of Andy Drees and Kevin Duffield made up the top three, also scoring a 32 Net however, missing out on second place on a countback.

There was a selection of special events on the front nine of the Earth course, with players competing to win vouchers for a lesson with Tommy Fleetwood Academy PGA Professionals Diarmaid Fraser and Joe O’Connor. Winning longest drive on hole 2 and a lesson with Diarmaid was Lee Johnston who left himself with just an iron into the long par 5. Winning the nearest to the pin on hole 6 and a lesson with Joe was MCC member David Warham who hit an incredible shot to a couple of feet.

Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Stephen Hubner, Club Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, commented, “I am so pleased that you all could join us for today’s event. I am very pleased to see our weekly Thursday Curry Club grow in numbers and will hopefully see you all next week along with some new faces”.
