Abu Dhabi: Football fans will be able to enjoy the celebrations surrounding the Fifa Under-17 World Cup here when organisers open the official Fan Zone at the Corniche here on Thursday.
As the three-and-a-half week tournament gets under way at the city’s Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium on the same day, fans can get involved by visiting the dedicated area at the Corniche’s public and family beach area from 4pm.
The Fan Zone will boast a series of football activities and giveaways from the Local Organising Committee, Fifa Partner Kia and national supporters First Gulf Bank, TCA Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Airports Company. Fans can also get their hands on complimentary match tickets from the Fan Zone every day from Thursday to November 8. Tickets will be available three days prior to each match day.
The Fan Zone also offers visitors the chance to get involved in the tournament action and watch live screenings of key matches.
Mohammad Bin Bdoua, Tournament Director, said: “The Fan Zone is a fantastic day out for anyone who loves football. Visitors can expect plenty of fun activities, from target shot games to human foosball to a mini-pitch, all with great prizes to be won. We are looking forward to bringing together all of the UAE’s football communities to celebrate the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in the UAE.

The Fan Zone will be open daily until November 8, from 4pm to 11pm from Saturday to Wednesday and 4pm to midnight on Thursdays and Fridays.
Tournament tickets are available on a first-come-first served basis at no cost at all six host venues on match days and throughout the tournament, from selected Hallmark stores across the UAE, and online at www.fifa.com/u17worldcup.
