Dubai: Al Nasr coach Walter Zenga has reportedly put his name forward for the Inter Milan job again.

Andrea Stramaccioni’s side are currently eighth in Serie A with six games remaining, while Zenga’s Al Nasr are fifth in the Etisalat Pro-League with four games to play.

They have therefore failed to follow up consecutive third and second-place finishes with the title.

Zenga, 52, who played for Inter between 1982 and 1994, told Serbian website Sportske: “I have an excellent rapport with [Massimo] Moratti [the owner of Inter Milan].

“To be coach of Inter would be a dream come true for me. I think it would be a dream for anyone, as the Nerazzurri are a great club.”

He has previously told the Italian press, even during his Al Nasr tenure: “I will take charge of Inter one day. I base that assumption on my personality, my strength and my ability to get to where I want to.

“It’s not hard to understand. If Inter were to call, I am free to leave. It’s no secret that it is my dream to be coach of Inter and complete the circle, returning to my club to train the squad – the Nerazzurri are always in my heart.”
