Dubai: The UAE Football Association (UAEFA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FACR) at the UAEFA headquarters in Al Khawaneej on Thursday.

The three-year deal follows an earlier agreement of the same length of time with the FACR in 2009 and complements the UAEFA’s existing partnerships with the football associations of Spain, Italy, Germany and Japan.

As part of the deal, the two governing bodies will share experience and expertise to develop the game.

Areas of focus will be: coaching, youth and women’s football, refereeing, the organisation of competitions, administration, marketing, media and social responsibility, as well as sports science, medicine and construction.

Facilities

Both countries will be able to make use of each other’s facilities for training camps and friendlies will be organised between clubs and national teams at every age-level.

UAEFA president Yousuf Al Sarkal and UAEFA general secretary Yousuf Abdullah were both present at the signing, along with their FACR counterparts FACR president Pelta Miroslav and general secretary Repka Rudolf.

Al Sarkal said: “We want to improve and we look for experience from all over the world. We don’t want to remain as we are. We know we have reached a point of development, but we are seeking for more through the experience and expertise of others.”
