UAE B team to meet Al Nasr seniors in a warm-up tie today
The UAE national B soccer team meet Al Nasr senior team today at 5.45 pm at Al Maktoum Stadium.
Dubai: The UAE national B soccer team meet Al Nasr senior team today at 5.45 pm at Al Maktoum Stadium.
The match will be a good preparation for the B team to keep the players fit and ready for the coming commitments and if the UAE coach Bruno Metsu wants to include any of them to his seniors.
The match will also be a good trial for the Al Nasr team preparing for the league matches which will resume after two weeks. Al Nasr will meet top-of-the table Al Shabab on Monday.
The UAE B team played last November in the Pan Arab Games held in Egypt. They showed a good performance, following which goalkeeper Obaid Tawila and striker Esmail Hammady were selected to the senior squad which is now in Syria for the World Cup qualifiers tomorrow.
The team under German coach Bernard Schum and his assistant Emirati Ali Ebrahim put the players through a short training camp started last Saturday. They held training sessions at the Al Wasl Stadium. This will be the second warm-up match for Al Nasr during the stoppage of the league.
The squad
UAE coach Bernard Schum selected 18 players for the match against Al Nasr today: Ali Khaseef (Al Jazira), Yousuf Abdul Rahman, Ebrahim Abdullah (Al Ittihad), Mohammad Jamal (Al Wasl), Mahmoud Qasim (Al Ahli),Talal Hamad (Sharjah), Abdullah Eissa (Al Shaab), Mussalam Faiz, Naser Khjamis, Fawzi Faiz (Al Ain), Mubarak Hasan (Fujairah club), Abdullah Mussa (Al Nasr), Mahmoud Khamis, Eissa Ahmad, Abdullah Al Kindi, Abdullah Al Noubi, Mohammad Osman, Saeed Al Kuthairi (Al Wahda).
