Dubai: Dr Tareq Humaid Al Tayer's nomination for the presidency of the Professional League Association Executive Committee (UFL) was approved by the FA Election Committee (EC) in its last meeting held at the FA premises in Dubai.

Dr Al Tayer will be elected UFL Executive Committee Chairman unopposed in the election scheduled to be held on April 29. The EC also approved the nomination of Jamal Hamid Al Merri as member of the UFL Executive Committee.

The EC decided in its first meeting held three weeks ago to reject the nomination of Dr Al Tayer by the Al Nasr Club and Jamal Al Merri's nomination by the Al Shabab Club due to some missing documents from their nomination papers.

The two clubs completed the required documents and sent them to the FA Appeal Committee who accepted them and asked the EC to approve them.

The new UFL Executive Committee chairman and members will be elected unopposed on April 29, they are: Chairman Dr Al Tayer (Al Nasr), Deputy Chairman Mattar Rashid Al Darmaki (Al Ain), members: Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi (Al Wahda), Badr Yousuf Al Gergawi (Al Ahli), Hesham Mohammad Al Zarouni (Al Shaab), Mohammad Saeed Al Nuaimi (Ajman) and Al Merri (Al Shabab).
