Sharjah ruler opens Al Madam Sports and Culture Club

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on Monday officially inaugurated the headquarters of the Al Madam Sports and Culture Club.

After unveiling a plaque commemorating the inauguration of the building, Shaikh Sultan toured the facilities, which include a football stadium, race tracks, outdoor basketball, volleyball and handball playgrounds. The club also has a theatre, library, training lounges, computer lounge and gym, among other features.

Shaikh Sultan met club officials and urged them to involve young people in their activities, in order to help them use their time in a good way.

Shaikh Sultan gave directives for improvement of services offered at stadia and other outdoor and indoor facilities.

He gave directives for the opening of English language training classes at the club, in cooperation with the American University of Sharjah and other institutes.

Shaikh Sultan also pledged to cover all the costs of fully equipping the club’s new theatre.
