Dubai: Arabian Gulf League side Shabab Al Ahli Dubai have signed a strategic partnership agreement with real estate developer Azizi Developments.

A signing ceremony took place in Dubai on Sunday in the presence of Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, the chairman of the higher committee for the merger of Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, and Mirwais Azizi, the chairman of Azizi Group.

Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club were formed following the merging of three sides - Al Shabab, Al Ahli and Dubai - in May upon the instructions of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Sulaiman said that the club is focused on strengthening sports in the UAE and supporting it to achieve results worthy of the name of the UAE.

Commenting on the event, Azizi said: “The signing of this strategic partnership with Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Football Club comes from our belief that sport is a significant aspect of our society and culture, and it is vital for the private sector give back to local communities through such initiatives. The UAE has achieved economic excellence globally and is able to achieve the same on the sports level.

"The partnership we are signing comes as part of our commitment to developing sports and youth in the UAE, especially in a country that has opened its doors to all who aspire to succeed in achieving their dreams."

The news follows the announcement earlier this week that the club has signed a sponsorship agreement with Emaar Properties. The deal sees Emaar emblazoned on the club’s shirt for the 2017-18 season.

Shabab Al Ahli Dubai are joint-top of the Arabian Gulf League standings, having won their opening two games of the season.
