Rome: Spanish coach Marcelino Garcia Toral, who travelled to Milan to meet with Inter Milan directors, is among the favourites to lead the Serie A club, Italian media reported.
On Friday, the 51-year-old Marcelino arrived in Milan with his lawyer and agent Eugenio Botas, where they met with representatives of the Chinese group Suning, main shareholders of the Italian club.
The former coach of Villarreal has become the leading candidate to succeed Dutch Frank De Boer, after the Spaniard headlined the front pages of main Italian sports newspapers. Marcelino finished fourth in La Liga with Villarreal last season.
