Abu Dhabi: All roads led to the capital yesterday.
"I have never seen so many vehicles at a time on the Fujairah-Dhaid Highway. Vehicles started gathering on the highway at about 9am. And soon it turned into a long caravan heading for Abu Dhabi," said Zayed Mohammad Al Bulushi, a resident of Al Dhaid.
He said the Abu Dhabi-Dubai Highway was also flooded with vehicles.
The situation was the same on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain and Abu Dhabi-Ghuwaifat highways as well.
The Traffic and Patrols Department, to ensure smooth flow of traffic, increased the number of patrols on all routes leading to the Zayed Sports City, where the final was being held.
