Abu Dhabi: Kuwait's football community opened fire against Radan, the head coach of their national team, for excluding six players from the team which will face the UAE in the opener of their campaign in the qualifiers of the 2010 World Cup.
Radan excluded Hamad Al Enazy, Jarrah Al Attigi, Khalid Al Shammary, Ali Muqaiseed, Ahmad Al Fadhli and Shiha b Kankouni.
The players returned home at the end of their team's training camp in Oman and joined their clubs with Al Enazy leading Al Qadisiyah to win their encounter against Al Jahraa in the semifinals of Kuwait FA Cup scoring the only goal of the match only hours after arriving back home.
Backbone
Radan was criticised because the players excluded are most experienced and were expected to be the backbone of the team in the qualifiers in Kuwait's hopes to play again in the finals of the World Cup after their participation in 1982 in Spain.
Al Shammary was quoted saying, "I am shocked by the decision because I have been a key player in all the friendly matches."
Al Attigi said that he is not sad because of the coach's decision and he will continue playing with his club, Kuwait Club which is also coached by Radan.
