Dubai: The Pro League Committee (PLC) hosted its annual Club Licensing Workshop at the UAE Football Association (UAE FA) headquarters in Al Khawaneej earlier this week.

The meeting brought together club licensing and finance officers from all 14 clubs participating in the Arabian Gulf League (AGL) this season.

Michelle Chai, PLC technical and competitions director, opened the workshop with a presentation introducing the new 2014-’15 club licensing cycle before Alisher Nikimbaev, senior manager, club licensing, provided a more detailed review of the decisions and results of last year’s club licensing, focusing particularly on offering advice to clubs about areas for improvement.

Bashar Haddad, club licensing auditor, then gave an in-depth explanation of the financial criteria within club licensing, offering support and advice on best practices for the coming cycle.

The workshop also covered all updates and new additions to the PLC’s club licensing criteria for the new season that is scheduled to kick off with the Arabian Gulf Super Cup final between Al Ahli and Al Ain at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 12.

The first round of matches of the AGL will be held on September 15 and 16.
