Liverpool: Liverpool are closing in on signing Roma winger Mohammad Salah for a club record £40 million (Dh185.4 million), British media including the BBC, reported on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Egyptian national has been a prime target for manager Jurgen Klopp and could join for a fee which would eclipse the £35 million the Reds paid for Andy Carroll in 2011.

Talks have been going on since last month with Roma, who initially rejected a £28 million offer for him at the start of June.

Salah, who initially rejected Liverpool three years ago to join Chelsea, has agreed a deal that will nearly double his wages to £90,000 per week.
