Los Angeles: Jacksonville paid a price for their first win of the NFL season, announcing on Monday that linebacker Paul Posluszny will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.

Posluszny, who had 69 tackles and two sacks in seven games, was hurt in the Jaguars’ 24-6 win over Cleveland on Sunday.

Jags coach Gus Bradley also said that defensive end Andre Branch was expected to miss at least six weeks with a groin injury.

The Jaguars weren’t the only team counting the cost after Sunday’s games.

Washington linebacker Brian Orakpo will miss the rest of the season, also with a torn pectoral muscle.

“He’s going to have surgery and he is out for the season,” Washington coach Jay Gruden said. “He’s been playing very good against the run and disruptive in the passing game.”

Orakpo left Sunday’s 19-17 win over the Tennessee Titans in the fourth quarter and had an MRI exam on Monday that confirmed the extent of the injury.

NFL.com reported that Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller will miss the rest of the season with a broken collarbone.

Spiller was hurt in the first half of Buffalo’s 17-16 win over Minnesota. Fellow Bills running back Fred Jackson also exited in the first half, but told a local radio station on Monday that his groin injury won’t require surgery and has a typical recovery time of four weeks.

Atlanta’s already depleted offensive line took another hit as the Falcons placed centre Peter Konz on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

Konz was hurt in a loss to Baltimore and joins tackles Sam Baker, Lamar Holmes and offensive lineman Mike Johnson on the sidelines.
