Dubai: Getafe FC has already started the process of consolidating its squad with the signing of some key players.

First on board has been goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya Rumbo on loan from Valencia FC, along with Espanyol central defender Alberto Lopo Garcia and Juan Antonio Rodríguez, who has regularly played as starter during his six-year spell with Deportivo in various midfield positions.

Another three key players who have agreed terms with the club include midfielders Mehdi Lacen of Algeria and Racing Santander, Diego Castro Gimenez from Sporting Gijon and goalkeeper Tomeu Nadal from Real Mallorca.

"We are in the process of building up a big and good all-round team. But we will be a bit more conservative in what we are doing as we don't want to go crazy and scare and shake-up everyone in Europe," said Dr. Kaiser Rafiq, managing director of new owners Royal Emirates Group.

"We still need another four players, preferably an offensive mid-fielder, wing defender and strikers, and these will be known in due course," he added.

The squad will assemble in central Spain for a fitness camp after which they will travel to Holland for a series of friendlies. "We have a plan in mind and we are following it," Dr Rafiq added.

Another six players from the B side have made the transition into the main team for the new season. "We also have very little time for any new marketing campaign," Dr Rafiq said.
