London: Substitute goalkeeper Luke Steele was Bristol City’s unlikely hero as the visitors clung on for a point in an impressive 0-0 draw at English Championship promotion rivals Derby on Friday.

A share of the spoils at Pride Park left Derby nine points behind runaway leaders Wolves, who are at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but three points clear of third-placed Cardiff in the race for the second automatic promotion spot.

Friday’s point left fourth-placed City just five points adrift of Derby as they look to at least secure a play-off place. Derby were on top for most of the match, with a 25-yard free-kick from Matej Vydra turned behind expertly by a diving Fielding.
