Madrid: European football’s governing body UEFA has announced a 10-man shortlist for the 2014-15 Best Player in Europe award.

The list includes three players from FC Barcelona, namely Argentine Lionel Messi, Brazil’s Neymar da Silva Junior and Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez, along with Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, reports Efe.

The shortlist also features two nominees from Italian side Juventus, namely Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal and Argentina’s Carlos Tevez, currently playing for Boca Juniors.

No Spanish players made the final list announced on Wednesday.

The 10 nominees for the 2014-15 Best Player in Europe award are as follows: Gianluigi Buffon (Italy/ Juventus), Eden Hazard (Belgium/ Chelsea), Lionel Messi (Argentina/ Barcelona), Neymar (Brazil/ Barcelona), Paul Pogba (France/ Juventus ), Andrea Pirlo (Italy/ Juventus, now with New York City FC), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/ Real Madrid), Luis Suarez (Uruguay/ Barcelona), Carlos Tevez (Argentina/ Juventus, now with Boca Juniors), Arturo Vidal (Chile/ Juventus).
