French club could steal a march on Manchester City in quest for Brazilian defender
Rio de Janeiro: Manchester City’s attempts to sign up Dani Alves could be hijacked by Paris Saint-Germain.
Alves is a free agent after leaving Juventus last month and Manchester City are considered favourites to sign him due to the influence of head coach Pep Guardiola, who was Alves’ boss at Barcelona, reports Xinhua news agency.
But the 34-year-old Brazilian could be swayed by a lucrative offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Alves, who is currently on holiday in Brazil, will make a decision “within days”, it is understood.
Chelsea and Tottenham are also reportedly interested
The right-back made 33 appearances for Juventus last season, helping the club to their sixth straight Italian Serie A title and to the Champions League final.
