Abu Dhabi: A brace of goals from Ivan Trickovski saw Al Nasr keep their perfect Arabian Gulf Cup form intact as they beat 10-man Ajman 2-1 on Tuesday.

With this victory, Al Nasr are now almost certain of making it to the knockout stages thanks to four wins from four matches.

The visitors took the lead as early as the eighth minute as Macedonian Trickovski rose to nod home a Mahmoud Khamis corner.

The second goal for Al Nasr came after the change of ends and it was Trickovski who again got into the scoring act with a close-range effort.

Five minutes later, Ajman managed to reduce the margin as Driss Fettouhi netted from a free-kick. However, their hopes of making a comeback were severely dented when their skipper Boris Kabi was red-carded for a late tackle on Essam Dhahi.

In another absorbing outing on Tuesday in Group A, Al Ain registered their first win of the tournament by beating Al Shabab in a 3-2 thriller at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

The winner for the hosts came in injury time, when Jires Kembo-Ekoko converted a penalty, after Al Shabab’s Edgar Silva had made it 2-2 in the 85th minute.

The remaining two goals for Al Ain came from Miroslav Stoch, who scored in each half. Carlos Villanueva contributed with a goal for Al Shabab.

In a Group B encounter, Emirates managed to get themselves off the bottom of the table by beating Al Wahda 3-1.

Mohammad Malalla, Essam Errak and Luiz Henrique all scored for Emirates, while Abdullah Al Nobi reduced the deficit for Al Wahda.
