Abu Dhabi: Al Wahda have beefed up their midfield by roping in two local players Tariq Ahmed and Nasser Abdul Hadi.

Both 26-year-old midfielders have switched loyalties from Dibba Fujairah. While Ahmed has been a part of the Dibba setup since 2012, Hadi has been with them for a year.

Ahmed also has the experience of having played for Al Wasl and Al Jazira before.

Hadi includes Emirates and Ajman on his CV.

“We really believe that we have roped in two outstanding, talented players who have signed with us for the next three years. Hadi is an outstanding defensive midfielder with strong skills and ability to make strong tackles. In Nasser we have got an offensive player with explosive skills and creativity,” said Al Wahda board member Jamal Al Hosni, who also was of the view that the club has addressed a lot of needs during the summer transfer window.

Ahmed said: “When I was playing with Dibba we were fighting for staying in the league while with Al Wahda we will be fighting for the title. That would be the major difference.

“I will be working to the best of my abilities to serves the team in the best possible way. I will try to keep my fitness level high as now I’m playing for a top club like Al Wahda.”

Al Hadi also echoed the same sentiments as his teammate saying: “I’m very elated to join Al Wahda Club. The team has great history and I’m ready to make the most of the opportunity. We have a great side and should do well this season.”

On Wednesday, Al Wahda will be unveiling their last foreign signing — Hungarian skipper Balazs Dzsudzsak, who lead his team into the last 16 of Euro 2016.

Al Ain, meanwhile, after the success of the first season of their Ainawi membership, have announced the launch of the 2016-2017 membership scheme. The membership offers the chance to book an exclusive seat during Al Ain FC matches held at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. The membership is now available along with offers and discounts on a range of brands and Al Ain Club assets. Card holders will be given priority when it comes to booking tickets and can participate in competitions and exclusive events organised by the club.
