Dubai: New Al Shabab signing Silva Henrique De Sousa Luvannor believes that his vast experience of two different styles of football will help him reach his potential with his new club.

Luvannor is the only foreign signing for Al Shabab this season. After beginning his career with third division Paranoa Esporte Clube back home in Brazil in 2009, Luvannor moved to Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol in 2011.

In his first season, Luvannor settled in as a defender and still managed to score five goals. But subsequently, he moved upfront and scored 18 times in as many matches in the Moldavian Football League thus helping his side qualify to the group stages of the Uefa Europa League.

“I have the rare experience of playing in Brazil and in Moldova. So it is two separate schools of football and I definitely have an advantage. Now I am working with a Brazilian coach and this can only make me a better player,” Luvannor told Gulf News.

“Everyone wants to play in this league. I come here with a lot of experience and I intend to pass this on to my teammates and help develop the game here,” he promised.

Luvannor obtained Moldovan citizenship last year and made his national debut in Moldova’s friendly match against Lithuania on November 18, in which he scored the equaliser in the 72nd minute for a 1-1 draw.
