Berlin: Spain international Javi Martinez said he was feeling optimistic after beginning rehabilitation following a knee operation.
Two weeks ago the 26-year-old went under the knife in Colorado to repair his torn cruciate ligament.
Now back in Munich, he is already set to begin physiotherapy.
“I’m feeling good and I’m taking a positive approach. The knee’s feeling a little better every day,” he told Bayern’s website.
“I’m severely restricted in terms of movement at the moment, so I have to be even more careful to eat the right things.
“The most important factor in your recovery is the right attitude and mental strength.”
The holding midfielder or central defender was injured in last month’s German Supercup defeat against Borussia Dortmund.
He is not expected back until at least January.
Following his loss, coach Pep Guardiola delved into the transfer market to pry his compatriot Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid, while Morocco centre-back Mehdi Benatia also joined from Roma.
