Iran draw for syria boss
Fajr Ebrahim, the caretaker coach of Syria, said goodbye to his job as a head of his country's team in style.
Abu Dhabi: Fajr Ebrahim, the caretaker coach of Syria, said goodbye to his job as a head of his country's team in style.
Fajr helped Syria embarrass favourites Iran and won a valuable point following a 0-0 tie in Azadi Stadium in Tehran in front of more than 45,000 spectators.
But it was the last match for the former Syrian defender, who played for Al Wahda club in Damascus, as former Italian defender Antonio Caprini will take over next week to prepare the team for the remaining matches. Fajr will be the assistant of the new coach and their next match will be against the UAE in the Syrian capital next month.
