Nice, France: Midfielder Paul Pogba will miss France’s friendly internationals against Armenia and Denmark after spraining his ankle in training, the French Football Federation announced on Thursday.

The highly-rated 22-year-old Juventus star left the French training camp in Nice on Thursday to return to Turin and will play no part in the match against Armenia later in the day, nor in Sunday’s match against Denmark.

After a medical check, coach Didier Deschamps “decided to let the player return to his club”, the Federation said.

France have already qualified for Euro 2016 as hosts but are playing friendlies throughout the qualifying period against the teams in Group I.
