Paris: Euro 2016 hosts France will entertain Fifa World Cup winners Germany in a friendly at the Stade de France on November 13, the French Football Federation (FFF) said.

The match will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals in Brazil where Germany won 1-0 to oust France, Xinhua reported on Wednesday.

Their last meet in France was also at the Stade de France, the stadium having hosted the 1998 World Cup final, as Germany travelled to Paris in 2013 and won 2-1.

France will use the friendly against Germany as part of their preparations for next year’s European Championship to be held in 10 stadiums on home soil.

The Euro 2016 hosts, who are automatically qualified for the continental football event, will next travel to London for a friendly against England in London’s Wembley Stadium on November 17.

Germany are now second behind Poland in Group D in the Euro 2016 qualifications.
