UAE goalkeeper honoured for outstanding performance for Lokomotiv Moscow

Dubai: The UAE national team's goalkeeper Humaid Jamal has returned to Dubai after helping Lokomotiv Moscow FC lift the Mundialito de Clubes trophy against Brazilian club CR Flamengo in Sao Paulo, Brazil last week.
Jamal was one the outstanding performers for the Russians as they fought back on three occasions to eventually seal a fine 6-4 win against the Brazilian side.
Jamal played in all the matches, sharing goalkeeping duties with Ukraine's Sydorenko — later awarded the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
This is a matter of great pride for Dubai and the UAE as Jamal is one of the most talented players whose skills were honed at the Dubai Sports Council's ‘Al Furjan' inter-district competition held annually. "This is definitely something that we can be proud of considering that Humaid Jamal has come through the ‘Al Furjan' competition.
"And now he is the best goalkeeper in the world and we are proud to have him on our national team as well," remarked Dr Ahmad Sa'ad Al Sharif, secretary-general, Dubai Sports Council (DSC).
"Humaid Jamal is just one of the few success stories of the varied development programmes that have been initiated by the Dubai Sports Council under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council. We are confident that we will reap even more benefits from these programmes in all other sports in the near future," Dr Al Sharif added.
In the final played last Saturday, Benjamin gave the home side the lead in the sixth minute, only to see Gorchinskiy draw his side level. Benjamin added a second and Gorchinskiy once again came up with a reply. Yet again, Benjamin scored and completed a fine hat-trick, but the Moscow side did not give up and drew level through Shkarin. Lokomotiv then went ahead for the first time in the match when Makarov added another goal to make it 4-3 and Daniel tapped home to make it 5-3.
Brazil's Clube Vasco Da Gama took the bronze medal with win against Sporting Clube de Lisbon.
