Dubai: Football fans in the UAE can now watch the Barclays Premier League kick-off on television from Saturday via Al Jazeera Sport, which has exclusive coverage rights for the event.
Etisalat subscribers can watch the EPL action on eLife in high definition (HD) by subscribing to the package for Dh58 per month, while du subscribers must pay Dh70 per month.
Rashed Al Abbar, vice-president, Home Services, etisalat, said existing subscribers of the package will get automatic access to the new HD channels and English Premier League matches.
“We are committed to bringing high-quality entertainment to our eLife TV subscribers. We are confident that the package will be popular with fans of football and the English Premier League,” he said.
“New eLife TV customers can subscribe to the package at the revised monthly subscription charges from August 15, while for existing customers of the eLife TV Al Jazeera sports package, the price will remain unchanged for a month. The new price revision has been implemented recently by Al Jazeera Sport, which now has the exclusive TV rights for broadcasting the English Premier League,” etisalat said in a statement.
All the matches will be aired on Al Jazeera +1-+10 channels.
Meanwhile, du said all new and existing du TV customers should subscribe to Al Jazeera +1-+10 and HD to watch the Barclays Premier League matches. For this, customers need to spend Dh70 for the Al Jazeera package, which consists of 10 standard-definition channels and six high-definition channels. Du charges Dh70 for the Al Jazeera package per month and the minimum period of subscription should be three months.
Existing du TV customers with an AD Sports subscription will need to subscribe to Al Jazeera +1-+10 and HD to watch the Barclays Premier League. Existing du TV customers with an Al Jazeera Sp+1 to +8 subscription will need to upgrade to Al Jazeera +1-+10 and HD to watch the Barclays Premier League.
ELife TV customers can subscribe on screen by clicking on the “Subscribe” button upon switching to any of Al Jazeera sports channels or by calling 800101, while du subscribers can call 04-390 5555.
