Etisalat supports Under-17 World Cup

Telecom company agrees to official link-up with Fifa tournament being held in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Telecom operator Etisalat was on Wednesday announced as an official national supporter of the Fifa Under-17 World Cup, which will kick-off in Abu Dhabi on October 17.

Ahmad Al Hashimi, Senior Vice President, Brand and Communication, Etisalat UAE, said: “Etisalat believes it has an important national role to play through supporting sports and the youth of UAE. We are an integral part of the UAE and as such proud to promote our nation’s involvement in such a prestigious international sporting competition. We are committed to developing the country’s sports sector because of its importance to the nation’s youth and positive impact on the society.”

Mohammad Bin Bdoua, Tournament Director, said: “We are pleased to welcome Etisalat on-board as a national supporter for the Fifa Under-17 World Cup taking place in the UAE this month. Etisalat’s support will hugely contribute to the promotion of this tournament, which will bring together the best young footballers from across 24 nations to the UAE for a fantastic event.”
