Dubai: Emirates Club have terminated the contract of their senior team coach Sofian Haydousy, of Tunisia, following poor results in the First Division League.

Haydousy had started his stint in January, replacing Brazilian coach Bentado who was sacked owing to poor results in the league. The club have appointed Haydousy's assistant Eid Esmail as caretaker coach for now.

During Haydousy's tenure, Emirates managed to win only won out of the 10 matches they played. Emirates are now at the bottom of the table with 11 points, with 5 more matches to go, and face near-certain relegation from the elite tier.
