Dubai: Rashid Eisa scored a brace while Mariano Donda and Juan Oliveira got one each as Diego Maradona's Al Wasl humbled struggling Emirates Club Ras Al Khaimah 4-1, while Al Jazira kept their title defence alive with a 1-0 win over Ajman Club in the 16th round of the etisalat Pro League yesterday.

Hosting Ajman Club in Abu Dhabi, Jader Volnei Spindler [Bare] scored the only goal of the match to secure full points for Al Jazira to continue chasing leaders Al Ain.

But in the second early match played in Ajman, it was Rashid Eisa who came up as hero for Maradona as the youngster scored once in each half to continue Al Wasl's surge to the top.

Ajman displaced

Eisa's first goal came in the 24th minute and the second one in the 65th minute as Al Wasl displaced Ajman Club in fifth position in the overall standings. Donda converted from the spot in the 32nd minute and Oliveira scored his 12th goal for Al Wasl as Maradona's men went on a scoring spree.

The visitors pulled back a consolation goal in the 66th minute.

Al Wasl showed their intent early when Mohammad Khalatbari was put through by Saeed Ahmad for a shot on goal in the very first minute, only to be denied by the Emirates goalkeeper.

Al Wasl's optimistic start was rewarded in the 24th minute when Ahmad lay a perfect pass in the path of Eisa for the opener.

Oliveira was felled by an Emirates defender and Donda completed the penalty conversion in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0 at half-time.

Rewarded

Al Wasl continued pressing in the second half and were immediately rewarded when Oliveira headed in a Donda free kick in the 57th minute. Eisa then made it 4-0 when Ahmad once again turned provider from the left flank.
