Dubai: AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has vowed to field a full-strength team against Real Madrid in the Dubai Football Challenge at the Sevens Stadium on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of the exhibition game organised by Emirates airline — the shirt sponsors of both clubs — the coach and former Rossoneri striker promised to give fans the opportunity to see all their heroes in action.

“All the team will play,” Inzaghi said at a pre-match media conference at Emirates headquarters in Al Garhoud on Sunday. “Today we’ll see the players train for the first time in a week and during this time we will decide the best team to play in this challenge match.

“Okay, I may change players because they don’t have 90 minutes in their legs, but I will put the best players on the field from the first minute.”

The Italian 2006 World Cup winner said the friendly would be important to prepare the squad for the second half of the Serie A season. Milan are currently seventh in the league and are targeting a top-three finish to qualify for the Uefa Champions League.

Milan finished eighth last season, failing to qualify for Europe entirely for the first time since 1998/99.

“We played well in the last two matches against Napoli [a 2-0 win] and Roma [a 0-0 draw] and we hope this game [against Real Madrid] will give us inspiration for the next match in the championship against Sassuolo [on January 6],” Inzaghi added.
