Dubai: The five-a-side Indoor Masters team sheets for Real Madrid and Barcelona at the forthcoming three-day International Indoor Football Championships, August 10-12 at Dubai World Trade Centre have now been released.
The team sheets include former Spanish internationals, Champions Cup winners, La Liga champions and Olympic Games gold medal winners.
An exhibition match between the all-star casts will precede the tournament at 10pm today. Barcelona's team consists of Albert Tomas, Angel Cuellar, Oscar Apron, Xavi Roca, Thomas Christiansen, Sergi Barjuan, Quique Carcel, Victor Munoz, Sanchez Jara, Robert Fernandez, Esteve Moner and Santi Ezquerro.
Real Madrid will field; Pedro Contreras, Oscar Montalban Ramos, Victor Sanchez, Emilio Alvarez, Emilio Amavisca, Sergio Sestelo, Ivan Perez, Juan Manuel Martinez, Jose Luis Morales, Dani Garcia and Pepe Mesas.
The star names among these two teams are arguably 2003 Bundesliga topscorer Christiansen, turning out for Barcelona and former 1998 Champions League winning Dani Garcia.
Organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre, in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the matches between six teams — Real Madrid, Barcelona and four as yet unnamed UAE clubs — will take place at the Shaikh Rashid Hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre from 9.30pm to 12.30am every evening.
The competition is part of the on-running Dubai Sports World, a two-month indoor multi-sports festival set across 25,000 square metres of specially laid turf.
