Dubai: Milan’s metro was evacuated after a bomb scare on Saturday, just hours before the city hosts the Uefa Champions League final.

Local media reports that a suspicious package was found at Cadorna railway station, prompting authorities to evacuate and suspend two lines. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the M1 line was stopped between Cairoli and Pagano and the M2 line was halted between Garibaldi and Porta Genova.

A bomb disposal unit was seen entering the station and determined that the suspicious package was not a threat.

Normal service has now resumed at Cadorna, one of Italy's busiest railway stations.

Over 80,000 fans are expected at the San Siro Stadium on Saturday as Real Madrid take on Atletico Madrid. Kick off is at 10.45pm UAE time. Follow the action with Gulf News’ live text.
