Capital Police team in a class of their own

Capital Police were the star football team in the competitions organised by the Abu Dhabi Government Departments Sports Association (ADGDSA) for the 2007-08 season winning three titles.

  • Nussair, who is a match commissioner for Fifa and CAF (African Football Confederation), expressed his gratitude to all participants.

Abu Dhabi: Capital Police were the star football team in the competitions organised by the Abu Dhabi Government Departments Sports Association (ADGDSA) for the 2007-08 season winning three titles.

The team proved to be in a class of their own as they won the Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Cup, The League and the ADGDSA Cup dominating all three major football competitions of the season.

"It was a hectic and long season but, thank God, we achieved great success in organising the different sports competition in our calendar," Fathi Nussair, the Technical Director of the ADGDSA, told Gulf News.

Nussair, who is a match commissioner for Fifa and CAF (African Football Confederation), expressed his gratitude to all participants. "The teams showed great sportsmanship and helped us to achieve success. And the Board of Directors of the ADGDSA, headed by Saif Ahmad Al Hamly, have provided all means to a healthy and fair competition.

"We are studying new competitions for the new season and we are looking forward to more participants to add to the already wide range of government departments and private companies that take part in our competitions," Nussair concluded.
