Dubai: Brazilian World Cup winners Ronaldinho and Rivaldo are rumoured to be interested in moves to the UAE Professional League (UFL), Gulf News can reveal.

Cristina Cubero, a journalist from Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo and close friend of AC Milan star Ronaldinho, said in an interview on Spanish Radio show Punto y Pelota on the weekend: "Milan took Robinho in what was an excellent move, but I won't rule out a Ronaldinho exit because of this — Ronaldinho is attracted by the UAE."

Meanwhile, an unnamed Brazilian football agent working in the UAE said he had been contacted about 38-year-old Rivaldo's UAE market value. Rivaldo, who is currently with Uzbek outfit Bunyodkor, has played for some of the world's biggest clubs including Barcelona and AC Milan.

Both stars were key players when Brazil won the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

Will Ronaldinho be a positive signing for the UAE league? Or is this another case of a great player past his best looking for one last pay day?
