Dubai: Bani Yas completed their foreign quartet for the coming season with the signing of 31-year-old Spanish midfielder Joan Verdu from Spain’s Real Betis over the weekend.

Verdu, formerly of Spanish sides Barcelona B, Deportivo La Coruna and Espanyol, is compatriot coach Luis Garcia’s third summer signing after Spanish defender Angel Dealbert from Russia’s Kuban Krasnodar and South Korean forward Kim Jung-woo from Sharjah.

Verdu, Dealbert and Jung-woo will line up alongside retained Chilean striker Carlos Munoz.

Eric Gerets’ Al Jazira have also completed their foreign allocation with the signing of 21-year-old Argentinian midfielder Manuel Lanzini from Argentina’s River Plate.

Lanzini joins Montenegrin forward Mirko Vucinic from Italy’s Juventus and Burkinabe winger Jonathon Pitroipa from France’s Stade Rennais, while retained Brazilian midfielder Jucilei Da Silva will assume the club’s Asian allocation after obtaining Palestinian citizenship.

Caio Junior’s Al Shabab completed the transfer of 24-year-old Brazilian-born Moldovan utility man Henrique Luvannor from Sheriff Tiraspol.

Luvannor joins retained Brazilian striker Edgar Bruno, Uzbek midfielder Azizbek Haydarov and Chilean midfielder Carlos Villanueva.

Elsewhere, Fathi Al Jabal’s Ajman have signed Algerian midfielder Karim Ziani, 31, from Qatar’s Al Jaish. Ziani is formerly of France’s Troyes, Lorient, Sochaux and Marseille and Germany’s Wolfsburg.

Emirates Club have signed Moroccan winger Yousuf Kaddioui, 29, from Qatar’s Al Kharaitiyat. Kaddioui joins compatriot midfielder Essam Erraki under Brazilian coach Paulo Comelli.
