Dubai: Al Wasl coach Jorginho is asking his players to use Al Shabab’s 4-2 win away to defending champions Al Ahli last week as inspiration ahead of the Cheetahs’ trip to Al Nasr on Tuesday.

Like Al Wasl, Al Shabab were underdogs heading into the Al Ahli match, but they still managed to stun the favourites.

Jorginho is hoping similar spirit can see second-from-bottom Al Wasl overcome their derby rivals Al Nasr, particularly after a poor start to the season where they have drawn 2-2 at home to Al Dhafra and lost 2-0 away to Al Ain and 5-1 at home to Al Ahli.

“We hope to capture what Al Shabab did to Al Ahli and play with strength, morale and integrity, this is the way to play these matches,” the Brazilian said.

“Al Ahli could have won by four or five goals, but in two set pieces Al Shabab were able to turn over the game. We hope to do the same in order to gain morale for the rest of the season to start the championship from this moment forward.”
