Dubai: Members of the board of Al Wasl Football Company have expressed their satisfaction on Saturday with the recent developments that have taken place at the club in the past few weeks, namely the additions made to the management team and the squad with the aim of building a competitive side that can challenge for titles. 

The board of directors at Al Wasl Football Company have also extended their gratitude and appreciation to HH Sheikh Ahmad bin Rashed Al Maktoum, President of Al Wasl Sports Club for his leadership and guidance and HH Sheikh Majed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Vice President of Al Wasl Sports Club for his continuous support.

Marwan bin Bayat, Chairman of Al Wasl Football Company said: "Their efforts are much appreciated by everyone involved in this club and hopefully all the hard work that has been executed will result in success." 

As the start of the new season nears, there is a consensus amongst everyone in the club on the mission at hand, and that is to achieve the objectives set for the club's new project.

This mission has been made clear by the many developments that have taken place so far starting with the hiring of football legend Diego Maradona as head coach, in addition to reinforcing the management team with skilled individuals who are passionate about the club's new project for next season.

The Club has also seen reinforcements in the squad and the new signings all have a winning mentality, which is what is needed to succeed. 

The board of directors of Al Wasl Football Company has also accepted the decision of Ashraf Ahmad in ending his relationship with Al Wasl after fulfilling his role as company's acting CEO.

The board of directors expressed their appreciation for all the hard work and dedication that Ashraf Ahmad showed during his time with the club and wish him all the best in his future ventures. 

The 2011/2012 season for Al Wasl will officially start in mid-September when the team will compete in the Etisalat Cup against, Al Wahda, Dubai Club, Al Ain and new entrants Emirates Club as part of Group A, while Al Wasl's first match in the Pro League will take place on the 14th of October in Zabeel stadium against Sharjah.
