Al Wahda, Al Jazira share points

Abu Dhabi: Esmail Matar made up for a series of missed chances when he struck the equaliser three minutes before the final whistle to help hosts Al Wahda hold Al Jazira 1-1 in the UAE Football League here on Saturday night.

Earlier Abdul Salam Juma scored a peach of a goal in the 44th minute for Al Jazira in the capital's derby and the opening game for both the title contenders.

In Dubai, defending champions Al Shabab scored a 2-0 win over Al Shaab to open their campaign on a winning note.
