Abu Dhabi: Al Jazira head coach Ladislau Boloni believes it is time for work, not words. The coach decided to cancel the usual pre-match press conference ahead of his team's crucial game against Al Shabab.

"We are facing a tough match and we do not want to get distracted," Ahmad Saeed, the team's administrator, told Gulf News yesterday. "We have great ambition to win the title this season and after tasting success in the GCC Clubs Championship, we want to add the local league title to our haul.

"Our task is difficult, but so were all the other matches in the league," the former defender of Al Jazira, Al Dhafrah and the UAE said.

"Our players are in high spirits, having reached this far, and we will depend upon their fighting spirits to win tonight. Winning tonight is the only way for us to ensure a playoff and I believe tonight's match is more important than the playoff," he added.
