Al Jazeera to broadcast World Cup final for free

Gesture adopted by broadcaster as a show of gratitude to all football fans who faced 'frequent disruptions' in World Cup viewing

Dubai: Football fans will be able to watch the final of the world’s most popular sports event for free.

Al Jazeera sports will also give customers’ that subscribed for the World Cup channels an additional month of free subscription so they can enjoy all global sport events covered by the channel.

Nasser Bin Ghanem Al Khalifi, General Manager of Al Jazeera Sports Channel, said that the channel will broadcast the World Cup 2010 final for free; a gesture adopted as a show of gratitude to all Al Jazeera viewers who faced ‘frequent disruptions’.

The Jazeera Sports’ board of directors reiterated their condemnation of such practices that deprived viewers from enjoying the World Cup.

“The channel will broadcast the World Cup final in all three languages and satellites for free. This is to make sure to provide this important and prominent sports event to all viewers,” Al Khalifi said.

In a show of appreciation, Jazeera Sports said it will repay loyalty with loyalty.
