Al Ain: Japanese strikers Takayuki Morimoto and Mike Havenaar are loan targets for Al Ain, following the club’s failure to persuade Arsenal’s South Korean forward Park Chu-young from joining Celta Vigo.
Having already signed Jires Kembo Ekoko from Stade Rennais to complement Asamoah Gyan and Mirel Radoi, the club still need to fill their Asian vacancy following the departure of Yassir Al Qah’tani, who has returned to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal after spending last season on loan at Al Ain. Morimoto, 24, was shifted from Italy’s Catania to Novara on a part share last season, but he returned to Catania after Novara were relegated.
Havenaar, 25, currently plays for Holland’s Vitesse Arnham, but he could be made available following the arrival of Chelsea’s Gael Kakuta on loan.
